The Some Times: We're all here
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? What day is it? Should I just wear the same thing I did yesterday? What simple thing can I find pleasure in again this weekend? What's my cat doing? Let's go check on her.
🔍 What the heck are we doing
We've been fortunate to have some client work and we are filling our downtime with projects we've wanted to bring to life but haven't had time for. In addition to a contest we launched last week, we're working on a photo-series about flowers, several new fonts for Pretend Foundry, an interactive font experience, our new website, interior design for a cafe/office/residence in Charleston, more Coloring Pages and some video content to help spread the word about the Coronavirus that we'll share soon.

😬 It's a contest
The 2nd Decennial How Low Can Your Logo is alive! A real contest with real judges and real prizes to create real bad logos.
Knowing what we know about the behind-the-scenes struggle and anguish that goes into designing a logo, can we really say there’s such a thing as a bad logo? How Low Can Your Logo invites people to explore just that.
The contest kicked off on April 4 and will wrap up on Tuesday, April 21st with winners announced on Monday, April 27. It's been so pleasantly cringe-worthy to see the entries so far, over 750 of them! Part of why we put this contest on was to dig into what bad design means—something we'll address more thoroughly at a later date.
We feel so lucky to have convinced a panel of amazing judges to help us pick out the worst logo and some fantastic sponsors who will be gifting some really nice goods to the winner. Big thanks to our judges Nishat Akhtar, Carly Ayres, Caroline Bagley, Michael Bierut, Jessica Hische, Elliott Moody, and Armin Vit as well as our sponsors AIGA, East Fork, Counter-Print, Eye on Design, OFFHOURS (I mean have you SEEN the Homecoat), and Pretend Store.

🤓 Developing News
We’re excited about our collaboration with interior decorating AR company Primer. Their product wields powerful AR texture modeling and we were able to bring a slice of that through to their website with the magic of WebGL.
Using their app, you can point your camera at surfaces in your home and preview what a new coat of paint would look like in any color or even apply different materials like a new layer of tile. Their new website allows you to interact with 3D renderings of many of the tiles and wallpapers they offer, pulling from their database of textures and normal maps to create beautiful physically-based rendering previews right in the browser. Check it out!
